Quantitative work trained me to ask what a claim rests on: what is being measured, which assumptions are carrying the result, and where apparent precision may be hiding uncertainty.

I value this discipline. At the same time, I have learned that a life cannot be made legible by measurement alone. Structure can clarify a question without exhausting it.

量化工作训练我追问一个判断建立在什么之上：测量了什么，哪些假设支撑着结果，以及看似精确之处是否正隐藏着不确定。

我珍惜这种纪律。同时我也逐渐明白，生活无法仅凭测量变得完全可读。结构可以澄清问题，却无法穷尽问题。

Yue opera first taught me that restraint is not the absence of feeling. A held gesture, a measured phrase and an inherited convention can carry emotion precisely because they do not explain everything.

Tradition, in this sense, is neither a costume nor an obligation to repeat. It remains alive through attention: by learning its grammar closely enough to recognise where a present voice may enter.

越剧最初让我明白，克制并不是情感的缺席。一个被收住的动作、一句有分寸的唱腔、一套承接而来的程式，恰恰因为没有解释一切，才能承载情感。

因此，传统既不是一件供人穿戴的外衣，也不是必须重复的义务。它通过注意而保持鲜活：足够仔细地学习它的语法，才能辨认当下的声音可以从哪里进入。

A new place does not simply provide new material. It also makes old habits visible: how quickly I decide, what I seek for comfort, which details allow a place to feel inhabitable, and what I had mistaken for universal.

Movement has made belonging feel less like possession. It is an evolving relation between attention, memory and the willingness to be changed by where I am.

一个新的地方并不只是提供新的材料。它也让旧习惯显现：我作决定的速度，寻找安定的方式，哪些细节让一个地方变得可以生活，以及我曾经误以为普遍的事物。

移动让我觉得，归属更不像一种占有。它是一段持续变化的关系，由注意、记忆，以及允许所在地改变自己的意愿共同构成。

Within I emerged from a wish to give form to questions that did not belong to one discipline: how beauty becomes judgement, how attention becomes practice, and how a structure can remain exact without closing what is still alive.

It is not proof that these questions have been solved. Its different rooms are ways of working with them—publicly or privately, through writing, images, objects, archives and encounters with others.

Within I 源于一种愿望：为那些无法归属于单一学科的问题赋予形式——美如何成为判断，注意如何成为实践，以及一种结构如何保持准确，却不封闭仍然鲜活的事物。

它并不证明这些问题已经解决。体系中的不同空间，只是与问题相处的不同方式：公开或私人地，通过文字、图像、物件、档案，以及与他人的相遇。
